Faith’s Missions
We believe our faith must be put into action by bringing God’s love to the world through our missions and ministry.
Faith Works
At Faith, we have many talented men and women who love to work with their hands to help others, by building, repairing, or restoring things. We organized ourselves into a group called Faith Works. The mission of this organization is to put our faith into action. We meet as needed, to have a hearty breakfast and plan projects for the group. We have been involved in rebuilding a handrail, restoring steps, replacing rotten flooring, and minor plumbing repairs.
We are currently working with EmmanuWheel to build wheelchair ramps for those in need.
Mission Lexington
Mission Lexington is the hub of care for those in crisis in Lexington County. They provide families and individuals with life essentials (food, clothing, shelter) resources and guidance. Faith has been supporting Mission Lexington for over 25 years. Each month Faith collects non-perishable food for Mission Lexington. We have placed a collection barrel on the church steps for collection of these items from the community 24/7.
We also have several members that volunteer at Mission Lexington weekly.
Snack Sacks
Members of our Faith Family join with the Lexington United Methodist Church’s Snack Sacks Ministry to pack food items for local school students that need a little something more for the weekend. Faith volunteers to pack individual bags of food, once a month while school is in session. Everyone has found this to be a very rewarding mission and great fellowship.
Early Response Team
The Early Response Team (ERT) is a UMVIM sponsored group of volunteers who respond to disasters to assist people who have suffered damage from tornadoes, high wind, hurricanes, or flooding. Several members of Faith are trained ERT respondents. We sponsor ERT training at the church. Our members have participated in responses to disasters around the state and responded for hurricane relief in Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, and Mississippi.
Community Special Events
Faith sponsors several community outreach events throughout the year including a community Easter activity, Blessing of the Animals with Fall Festival, and an annual Golf Tournament each fall at Golden Hills Golf and Country Club in Lexington.
Hispanic Services
Faith shares our facility for Hispanic services each Sunday at 1 pm and Thursday at 7:30 pm. The church service is in association with Iglesia Centro Cristiano. For more information about this service contact Pastor Ramon Zenteno at 803-769-1000.
Outreach Support
As a church oriented to outreach, we have supported the needs of organizations such as Killingsworth, Aldersgate, Providence Men’s Home, Mission Lexington, Oliver Gospel, and Snack Sack Ministry.
Advent is a special time for this outreach as we collect items for a different charity each week. The charities are selected by the Nurture, Worship and Outreach Team. These items are delivered to these charities the following week.
