Faith’s Ministries

Our Ministries reach out to kids, youth, and adults through learning, music, fellowship, and food.

Children and Youth Ministries

Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not stop them; for it is to such as these that the kingdom of heaven belongs.” – Matthew 19: 14

We value children at Faith and consider it a true privilege to teach kids about Jesus.  We offer a variety of opportunities for your child to connect at church and grow in their faith.

Youth Fellowship

Each Wednesday evening during fall & winter, our students meet beginning with an opportunity to hang out with friends and then shifts into a time of worship, games, and relevant teaching of God’s Word, planned specifically towards their age group and designed to help them apply truth as they cope with real life issues.

Confirmation

Beginning in the 6th grade, students are invited to learn more about the promises made at their baptism, the church they attend and their relationship with Jesus through a weekly confirmation classes. These classes provide a time for students to spend with a mentor and the pastor exploring their Christian roots. As they complete confirmation, they are invited to confirm the vows made at their baptism and become members of the church

Worship Bags

We love having kids in worship with us on Sunday mornings!   However, we also understand that sometimes their attention spans are limited and can’t handle a full hour of quiet, focused time!  For this reason, we provide children’s worship bags complete with paper, crayons, pencils and children’s books.  Please feel free to pick up one of these blue bags located just inside the main church entrance on the right – and return after the service.  Who knows, your child may take some great notes and draw some relevant images that connect beautifully to what they have learned and experienced through worship.

Sunday School

Each Sunday morning beginning at 9:00 a.m. we have an engaging class just for students. The class leader challenges students to delve more deeply into their understanding of God’s Word using music, drama, and discussion.  Student Sunday school is for youth 4th grade-12th grade.

Safe Sanctuaries

To ensure the utmost safety of our young people, ALL of our nursery and Sunday school and youth workers have completed a national criminal background check and have been trained in Safe Sanctuaries’ procedures.  www.umcsc.org/home/resources/safe-santuaries.

Nursery

We offer a Nursery for Infants through age four.  Nursery care is available during Sunday school and worship.  For children who are not yet ready to participate in the full worship service, the nursery leaders will bring children into the sanctuary on Sunday mornings for the children’s message and for Holy Communion.  This allows even our youngest congregants to participate in the worship service on a regular basis.

Music Ministries

Make a joyful noise.

Adult Choir

Our adult choir includes a group of inspired individuals with a wide range of musical skills and experience. Anyone willing to make a joyful noise and praise God is welcome to join. The choir provides music for our service on Sunday as well as special occasions during Christmas and Easter. The choir practices on Sunday morning at 9:15.

Hand Bells

We have a 2-octave hand bell choir including enthusiastic adults and young people. The hand bells love teaching new people how to ring and practice on as needed schedule. They are a great addition to our Sunday worship services throughout the year.

Food Ministries

Methodists love to eat.

Fellowship Lunch

Each Tuesday, a group from Faith meets at the same local restaurant for lunch, fellowship, and conversations.  This ministry shows the presence of Faith UMC in the community and the joy of our fellowship.

Meal Ministry

When someone is in crisis it is a true ministry to provide the family with a whole meal ready to eat. This relieves the family of one more thing in a time of crisis.

Faith has a group of volunteers that coordinate a meal and take it to the family.
