Rev. Mandy T. Young
Rev. Mandy Taylor Young is an East Tennessee native. She was raised by two United Methodist pastors and spent her childhood and adolescent years moving to different cities all over the East Tennessee region. From Kingsport, Chattanooga, Knoxville and Cleveland, just to name a few – Mandy has lived in many different towns in Tennessee and her blood runs orange in the fall as she cheers on the Tennessee Volunteers.
In 2003, Mandy and her husband, Kyle moved to Greenville, SC for new job opportunities and they fell in love with South Carolina. After a mission trip to Alaska in 2004, Mandy answered God’s call on her life to pursue ordained ministry and she began seminary studies at Emory University in Atlanta. While in Atlanta, Mandy served as the Director of Youth Ministries at Zoar United Methodist Church in Snellville, GA. Upon graduation in 2008, Mandy was appointed to serve at Mt. Hebron United Methodist Church in West Columbia where she was the Associate Pastor for six years.
Mandy and Kyle have two young children and two wild dogs. They have lived in Lexington for seven years and feel blessed to get to serve God at Faith. Mandy began her appointment at Faith in June of 2015, but has felt a connection with this church for many years through her work with Salkehatchie Summer Service. Mandy is excited to see what God has in store for Faith Church and the Lexington community.
